Fine-needle aspiration (FNA) is a less invasive procedure that uses a thin needle to extract fluid or cells from a suspicious area. Core needle biopsy involves a larger needle to remove a small cylinder of tissue, providing more comprehensive information about the tissue's structure. Vacuum-assisted biopsies use a suction device to collect multiple tissue samples, while surgical biopsies are typically reserved for cases where other methods are inconclusive.

Stereotactic Biopsy
This sub-track will delve into stereotactic biopsy, a procedure that uses mammography to guide the needle to the precise location of the abnormality. It’s particularly useful for targeting calcifications or small masses that are not palpable.
Ultrasound -Guided Core Needle Biopsy
Explore the use of ultrasound guidance in performing core needle biopsies. This sub-track will cover the benefits of real-time imaging to ensure accurate targeting of the lesion, especially in cases where mammographic guidance is less effective.
Discuss MRI-guided core needle biopsy, which is used for lesions that are only visible on MRI. This sub-track will cover the technical aspects of performing biopsies under MRI guidance, as well as its specific indications and challenges.
Focus on surgical biopsy techniques, including both excisional and incisional biopsies. This sub-track will address when surgical biopsy is necessary, such as when less invasive methods are inconclusive or impractical.
Sentinel Node Biopsy
